I have had many experiences throughout my entire life so far. Many were in middle school, where there was the big shift from elementary school. One of my greatest experiences was in sixth grade specifically, which was very hard to win. It made many other people proud of me in the end of it.
One significant experience that I have endured is my middle school spelling bee. I earned first place in it at Herbert Hoover Middle School in sixth grade. There were a total of 90 students in my school that were competing in the event. We had a preliminary round a week before to decide who would be participating. Teachers in our homerooms gave us 20 words to spell on a piece of paper and hand in. The people that spelled the most words correctly were selected for the spelling bee. They posted a long list of all the people that had qualified for the event, one or two days after with my name on it. It was hosted the day before we went on Christmas break in the cafeteria. The students that were not participating had to write down the first 100 words used in the spelling bee, and it counted as a quiz grade. First place earned a $20 gift card to Barnes and Noble. I spelled most of the words correctly, all the way to the final two with my friend. Though I had several opportunities to win it, it took a very long time before I won on the word "unscrupulous". We used a total of over 120 words and took about two hours in the process. It was all worth it to get my reward and congratulations from my friends.
This experience showed that I was an excellent speller and could work well under pressure. It also made my friends think that I was really smart and a gook worker. I worked really hard to win the spelling bee as I also do with my other assignments in school that I receive.
Grate Job. I like the way you described leading up to you winning the spelling bee. I also liked how you described the spelling bee and the rewards.Another thing I like about this is how you wrote what you learned about yourdelf from the spelling bee.
